What is included in the rates?

Service and General Maintenance

Complete service and maintenance, even tyres and batteries of the Leased Vehicles are included in the rates provided here. For new Leased Vehicles, the first service must be completed as per manufacturer’s recommendation. A service sticker is placed in all Leased Vehicles (top left hand side of the front windscreen) with an odometer reading and a contact number. It is your responsibility to advise the nearest Shift Leasing office for service on the Leased Vehicle at the appropriate mileage interval. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required prior to servicing the vehicle.

However, additional repairs that are required as a result of misuse or negligence by your appointed driver will be carried out and charged to you. Tyres will be changed after every 50,000 kms., if required.

Replacement Vehicle

You will be entitled to a Replacement Vehicle when the Leased Vehicle is under maintenance or accident repairs.

Shift Leasing will advise you when the Leased Vehicle is available after servicing. You must return the Replacement Vehicle to Shift Leasing and collect the Leased Vehicle within 24 hours after being advised to do so. In case of non-compliance, Shift Leasing shall charge you for the use of the Replacement Vehicle at the same rate as agreed for the Leased Vehicle for the period in excess of 24 hours.

If delivery of the Leased Vehicle after servicing is required outside city limits, then Shift Leasing reserves the right to charge for delivery depending upon time and distance.

Roadside Assistance Service

In case of any roadside emergency, receiving prompt assistance is our priority. Our roadside assistance hotline provides you 24x7 emergency support. The hotline number will be provided to you.

Insurance Coverage

All vehicles are insured comprehensively for the geographical area of UAE including against third party liability in respect of death and bodily injury. An insurance excess of AED 750 will have to be paid by you for insurance claims lodged with our insurance company. The insurance excess will not be charged in case where your driver is not at fault and there is a third party involved and the amount can be recovered from the third party insurance company. If the Leased Vehicle has been damaged by an unknown third party, you will be liable to pay the excess amount only, provided a police report or police repair slip has been provided.

Driver abuse and non Fair Wear and Tear are not covered by the insurance and no coverage is provided for loss of personal effects in the Leased Vehicle.For coverage in Oman, you can obtain the Oman insurance certificate by sending a written request to Shift Leasing. Oman insurance fee as applicable for the insurance period required will be charged.

Registration

The vehicles will be registered by us and subsequent renewal will be our responsibility. Most of the hassles of owning a car are taken care by us.

What is excluded from the rates?

Fuel Costs

You will be responsible for all fuel-related costs on the Leased and the Replacement Vehicle. The Replacement Vehicle will be provided with a full tank of petrol and you must return it with a full tank as well. Or else we will charge you the cost of filling the petrol tank plus a re-fuelling service fee.

Salik

Credit utilised on the Leased and Replacement Vehicle(s) will be charged to you at Dhs. 4 per crossing, as per the existing Salik rate. An administration fee of Dh. 1 per crossing will be charged extra.

Traffic Violations

All costs incurred as a result of fines and other penalties (imposed by police or any other government authorities) issued during the tenure of the Lease Contract will be your responsibility and recovered accordingly. There will be a service charge of AED 25 on each traffic fine.

Other Terms and Conditions

Accident and Stolen Vehicle Reporting

In case the Leased or Replacement Vehicle is involved in an accident, it is mandatory to inform the police and obtain a police report. You are liable for full repair cost or any other costs if the damages are not supported by the police report.

You will be notified within 48 working hours by Shift Leasing on any under carriage damage when the vehicle comes in for service or repairs. You will then have to provide a police report otherwise you will be liable to pay for the full repair cost.

Signage or Modifications

Any signage addition and modification to the Leased Vehicle can be carried out with a prior written approval from Shift Leasing. You will be allowed to brand the Leased Vehicle provided the cost for branding or any cost imposed by RTA as a result will be borne by you. You would be required to provide Shift Leasing with details of the intended branding.

Driving License Requirement

Any of your authorised drivers above the age of 25 years are allowed to drive the Leased Vehicle. You shall be responsible to provide driving license copies of the initial driver of the Vehicle to Shift Leasing. Driving license requirements for visitors to the UAE are subject to change and Shift Leasing will provide up-to-date information to you.

If the driver at the time of the accident is less than 25 years of age, an additional 10% of the deductible amount of the admissible claim stands to be paid over and above the excess as stated in the Schedule of the Policy.

All employees on UAE residence visa are allowed to drive the Leased Vehicle, provided they have a valid UAE driving license.

For employees on visit visa, they must have an international driving license accompanied by a valid driver’s license from the issuing country (restrictions apply for selective countries).

Family members of the driver of the Leased Vehicle are entitled to drive as long as they hold a valid UAE driving license and are above the age of 25. Driving license and passport copies will have to be submitted to Shift Leasing before they are permitted to drive the vehicle.

Invoicing and Payment Terms

Invoices for the Leased Vehicle, traffic offences and excess liability will be sent to you by our accounts department. It is your responsibility to revert to Shift Leasing if any discrepancies exist within one week of receipt of the invoice.

Billing on all contracts will be monthly, in advance and the payment must be made within 30 days of invoice due date.

Lease Expiry

It is your responsibility to notify us on the intention to off hire/terminate the Leased Vehicle, three months prior to expiration of the Lease Contract.

On the expiration of the Lease Contract, you will return the Leased Vehicle to us in a condition, compatible with the age of the vehicle and kilometres driven. On the return of the Leased Vehicle, we will inspect the vehicle for damages, repairs that are required and if not considered as Fair Wear and Tear, the repairs will be charged to your account with prior intimation to you.

Premature Termination

You will be allowed to terminate the Lease Contract after a continuous lease period of one year. In the event that you return the Leased Vehicle to Shift Leasing before the termination date agreed in the Lease Contract then you will be liable to pay to Shift Leasing as follows:

Either a penalty amounting to 3-month lease charge.

Or the lease charges due up to the termination date of the Lease Contract whichever is the lower figure

For selective high value vehicles a sliding scale premature termination penalty will be applicable

Order Confirmation and Processing

You will issue a Local Purchase Order (LPO) for the required vehicle and send it to Shift Leasing. The LPO should display the basic information such as: vehicle type, colour, lease period, lease rates and the lease start date.

Shift Leasing will forward a lease agreement with annexure which provides the details of the Leased Vehicle(s) for the authorised signature. On receipt of the signed lease agreement copy, Shift Leasing will raise and process the order.

If required in case of urgency, Shift Leasing would start the Lease with a temporary vehicle(s). The temporary vehicle will be of an equivalent group as ordered.
